DnD seems to me very much as those ancient human societies. We need human sacrifices.
If only we had a shining example sure to please the gods...
ensbb3 and Frenzie it is okay I have had to put up with envy through life and no problem boys.   :-[
Mentioned once in a book, featured on the radio and interviewed on the telly. (Might as well change your avatar to the "As Seen On TV" logo now that I think about it. :) ) An asset to the community for sure. As a role model for the youth. Always there for the ladies. As well as stood for office. Beyond reproach may be inadequate. :sherlock:

Sigh...we all have to put up with things.  Oh and I had to honestly wear a gown monthly too for years....

Do you have to wear a wig along with the gown?

Not at District Court level. In England Magistrates tend to sit in three but up here in the northern part of the kingdom, Scotland they sit with just one judge (a legal advisor in a gown beside him/her) but the justice wears a gown unlike over the Border. It is not a paid position although any expenses can be got.

Chemistry is alchemy where the spooky aspects such as spiritual and immaterial have been cut off.
Yep. The same happens with old and modern ("scientific") medicine.
I was reading a XVIII century medicine text and got very surprised with the extreme lucidity of thought and rigor of analysis. What have basically evolved in medicine were the machines for every and all diagnosis.

Old doctors discussed if fever was a fluid or a humor, moderns ones have no idea about the whys and they don't care, enough to know that fever appears as a body reaction and some particular substance makes it to go down.

Did I break a record??
A matter of attitude.

Yes, presumably next record would be minimum 4 1/4 days, at least very close to it.

Should be fairly easy to automate. It's now <time elapsed> since last post. If that <time elapsed> is longer than previous record, users would be informed that any such post would break a record (and if they don't, someone else will).

Second time closer.

But then, following on the heels of the return of Mr. Tennessee:

This should be going on in the Christian community!

we had the return of rjhowie:

Rubbish Frenzie.
Let's sum up the scores

Existing record: 4 days 4 hours 41 minutes 31 seconds
Record attempt: 4 days 4 hours 30 minutes 58 seconds

A very worthy attempt by Mr. rjhowie, unfortunately at least 10 minutes and 33 seconds early.

Russia Ukraine incident: Duma 'to honour ship seizure troops'
The speaker of Russia's lower house of parliament plans to give state awards to the border guards who fired on and seized three Ukrainian vessels and 24 sailors a week ago, Russian media say.
Mainly posting this for the neat map of the incident

Nice cinematography and mostly coherent commentary. A few places I did not know about.

The drone part begins at 27 minutes. Have I mentioned earlier that I hate cities? I particularly hate dense cities.

Maybe before this place becomes completely abandoned, we should have a members gettogether irl somewhere convenient, such as Brussels? Flights are cheap right now.

Nah, I guess this place is already dead. The last chance was last year...

Old friends, political adversaries, fellow combatants, cherished one & all......you are all missed.....each & every one of ya........

I have to admit, even though I would rarely post, I regularly stopped in to see "what's new & happening".....finding nothing that jarred my adrenalin....I trekked elsewhere.......I know I'm not alone because we had such good times here......probably more than most would think or imagine.

I wonder, when each of us registered into the forum, we all used an email address......couldn't a post or two to those addresses possibly alert the owners to stop on by, if for nothing else than to say "I got the message, so I came here, saw nobody & nothing interesting outside of memories, but I needed to leave my mark just to let anyone who might give a damn a sign that the lights are still on"......like a sign-in for others to note, & maybe say hi.....even elaborate where they might be found & under what handle they are using of late, just in case contact might be in the cards if one so pleases......dunno, but these are my thoughts for what it's worth....

Just for your information my lights are still on.......& I've been darting around the southern hemisphere.....Island by Island.....soaking up the toxic sun, & enjoying retirement......I still maintain constant contact with many dozens of friends, & former employees, now friends, in the States.....& yes I am still an active firearm/Second Amendment advocate, & I shoot often when I'm Stateside.....the ranks of my military service buddies have dwindled considerably......many of which have just faded away, but those still active.....hell we have a blast when we do huddle up for annual old yarns.....maybe a tad slower, but still just as sharp!!

Well........all the best to you all.....to those that may read this.....my first mate says were into some good fishin' here soon, so I gotta go & get topside....I taste tuna today.......but know as long as DnD is still kickin', I'll be stoppin' by to take a look at "wuts happnin".........Cheers gents.....hope life's been good to ya'll!!!

Sadly the younger ones of us have gotten lives. The older ones have probably died off. And there is no natural growth of the next generation on the internet. On the internet, everything gets cataclysmically wiped over and replaced every few years.
