Paste your .bashrc

The main thing in this thread is .bashrc. Comments are optional.
Code: [Select]
#!/bin/bash
# ~/.bashrc: executed by bash(1) for non-login shells.
# see /usr/share/doc/bash/examples/startup-files (in the package bash-doc)

# If not running interactively, don't do anything
[ -z "$PS1" ] && return

# don't put duplicate lines or lines starting with space in the history.
# See bash(1) for more options
HISTCONTROL=ignoreboth

# append to the history file, don't overwrite it
shopt -s histappend

# for setting history length see HISTSIZE and HISTFILESIZE in bash(1)
HISTSIZE=1000
HISTFILESIZE=2000

export EDITOR=/usr/bin/nano

# check the window size after each command and, if necessary,
# update the values of LINES and COLUMNS.

# match all files and zero or more directories and subdirectories.

I don't have a .bashrc, I do however have a .tcshrc :left:

Much shorter ;)

Code: [Select]

#!/bin/tcsh
set prompt='%~%# '
setenv PATH .:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/X11R7/bin:/usr/pkg/bin:/usr/pkg/sbin
setenv TZ EST5EDT
setenv CFLAGS "-pipe -mcpu=ultrasparc3 -mtune=ultrasparc3 -O2"
setenv CVSROOT macallan@cvs.netbsd.org:/cvsroot
setenv WRKOBJDIR /home/work
setenv MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH /usr/pkg/share/gnash/plugins/
alias ll ls -l

Here's a .bash_aliases that goes back over 10 years.

Code: [Select]
# Aliases
# #######

# Some example alias instructions
# If these are enabled they will be used instead of any instructions
# they may mask.  For example, alias rm='rm -i' will mask the rm
# application.  To override the alias instruction use a \ before, ie
# \rm will call the real rm not the alias.

# Interactive operation...
alias rm='rm -i'
alias cp='cp -i'
alias mv='mv -i'

# Default to human readable figures
alias df='df -h'
alias du='du -h'

# Misc :)
alias less='less -r'                          # raw control characters
alias whence='type -a'                        # where, of a sort
alias grep='grep --color'                     # show differences in colour

# Some shortcuts for different directory listings
alias ls='ls -hF --color=tty'                 # classify files in colour
alias dir='ls --color=auto --format=vertical'
alias vdir='ls --color=auto --format=long'
alias ll='ls -l'                              # long list
alias la='ls -A'                              # all but . and ..
alias l='ls -CF'                              #

# Functions
# #########

# Some example functions
# function settitle() { echo -ne "\e]2;$@\a\e]1;$@\a"; }

#from http://infrablue.tripod.com/cygwin.html
alias d:='cd /cygdrive/d'
alias e:='cd /cygdrive/e'
alias www='cd /cygdrive/d/entrancement/www'

In .bashrc I used to have some screen-related stuff, but I stopped using screen in favor of tmux.
