Hats, ties vanishing, sloppiness becoming a standard

It used to be that hats were regular for all sorts of working folks including security guards, railway staff, bus drivers. Ties were a a standard thing and bad enough that odd MP's turn up without them but on tv politicians in discussion doing the same. Makes them look untidy and daft. Beards everywhere another thing and my mother used to get annoyed at that rushing into as she felt it showed them as not being very bright and hiding behind them as if showed maturity!  :o

which is an astonishing feat, even though it lasted only temporarily and degenerated into this.

Where I live, snob etiquetteurettes scoff at holding hands in pockets. In this particular aspect GB is not looking too good.

He is always smart looking. But on tv you often see a news announcer involving a member of staff on a news item with the tie of. The general trend these days in the areas I have mentioned have been a decline in appearance whether bus drivers, rail staff, security people and so on. Oh and beards are a another passing nonsense and Goebbels would be clapping his hands if here today at how people can be brained into sloppiness and such things.  I started wearing a tie at around 7 and before my primary school adopted a uniform. Wear one every day (!).

Would go well in nutjobland over the pond. Society has become a tramp like farce and you never here public statements from the traditional adult groups getting them off or youth organisations. Oh and I should have emphasised the added beard rubbish. My mother felt very strongly it made men look weak and I will proudly not jump onto daft things and admire my tie rack as well as keeping a shaver handy!

And a of these dashed beards look horrible and far from artistic or classy at all. It is a modern mess that easy minds can get pleased at rather than look proper. Beards make a man automatically? - Unsmart rubbish!

There's a long history of hats here as there. Both in practical application and as a class or status symbol. I assume you're worried with the latter.

I still have a negative thing on beards and that they look yeuchy and been a growth due to minds being taken over by control freak mindsets! Was pleased that my late mother disliked them and thought they were a sign of weakness in we men anda makeshift attempt by manhood to think they would be more confident with such. Fully agreed with her view that they were not a bonus but a weird way of trying to cover lack of confidence (!).I keep my ties and occasionally wear a proper hat and not be influenced by control freaks.

I prefer a short, well-trimmed beard. Most unfortunately, I’ve recently had to shave it so that the N95 mask I wear at work will operate properly.

Also the thought of our dear resident Unionist Scot dressing  up in a suit and tie to have a supper of beans on toast is highly amusing. Lol

No doubt he has an aperitif’ of Diet Irn Bru beforehand.

Diet Irn Bru? Heavens a Yank getting something right?! I stand by my view that beards are a sign of weakness in personality and such wearers think it makes them seem mature males. A load of cobblers of course. Ensure I wear a tie daily, shave and re the outside situation have a neat cap with an extension on the front as added weather protection - apart from the marching season when of course I have a bowler hat.  8)

You forget, I’ve been to the UK several times now. As a matter of fact, some relatives got back from the UK 3 weeks ago and brought back a favorite British delicacy of mine; Jaffa Cakes!

Haven’t had an Irn Bru in two years. Must do so again when I journey back over there after this madness has passed. Scotland, Belgium and Germany are on my list next go ‘round.
Ireland too if I have the time.

They've changed the recipe and it seems like a lot of folk don't like the taste of it now. Couldn't say for myself as I never drink the stuff.

Well Southern laddie Irn Bru is particularly popular here in Scotland. Don't do much myself on soft drinks and on a very odd occasion if decide on Irn Bru always take the lighter version.Will be good if you include Gt Britain again on a tour.

I guess that depends on grooming habits and where you... I mean hats!
I like to wear all kinds of hats. Not often talked about, I like tipping my hats and other hat gesturing. Why settle for just class when you can have style too.

I have two hats and a bowler for certain occasions. As for beards I do not need those damn things to show I am about!

Relating hats and similars two things that irritates me the most:
- People wearing hats inside the home, that's a lack of education.
- Those hoods that rappers and idiotic youth uses all the time.

You do have a point Belfrager on when hats should be worn. We have a politician here in Great Britain George Galloway (makes me groan) and is the  chairman on an RT programme called Sputnik. He wears a damn trilby style hat on the programme. I think when people do that they don't use their grey cells properly and there was an African leader think it was who used to do that. If wore inside my house I would of course throw him out!
