I would like Croatia to win, but I fear that the French have the individual players that could destroy them. But that hasn't helped any other team, so who knows,
The start and end to every story is the same. But what comes in between you have yourself to blame.

I remember watching France winning the World Cup many years ago. So it'll be nice to see...another* team win this year.

*tryin` to avoid jinx by not mentioning the other team :P

Their last 3 games have all gone into extra time, that's practically one game extra that they have played compared to France. An energy sapping final may be just too much for them.

It'll be a tough challenge for Croatia, so we'll see
Well, I had to request a day off work for Sunday July 15 and I got it. So I won't miss the World Cup Finals and get to watch it live

I hope that it's a good game then, as a bad one would make it hardly worth taking a day off for.

A day off is still nice, but of course you'd want to spend it as nicely as possible. :D

Well, it was a good game. Croatia had many chances but missed on their shots.

I'm still wondering what the heck the french goalie thought he was doing when he gifted Croatia their second goal.  :faint:
Lucky for him that wasn't the goal that won the match.

I bet the goalie didn't think the Croatia forward could get to the ball. That was the same Croatia player who headed the ball and scored his own goal that gave France a 1-0 lead. :P

Well he knows now.  ;)

I'm pretty sure the french goalie was already daydreaming about a bottle of French champagne to celebrate and didn't pay attention on the Croatia player :P

He was certainly daydreaming that's for sure. I bet his team mates will be reminding him of it when he gets back to his club.

It was a stupid and awkward mistake especially during a World Cup. Argentina goalie made a similar mistake. Can't remember who they played against but the Argentine goalie passed the ball to a defend, the ball was intercepted and the opposing forward player
scored. It looked really stupid for Argentina.

There were quite a few goalkeeper errors this world cup, I can't remember a world cup with so many of them. Still, it all adds to the entertainment value I suppose.  :D
Hard to believe they get paid for what they do sometimes.

I wonder how much that France goalie makes  I think Ronaldo had a $200million 5year contract with Real Madrid. He"s in trouble if he makes stupid silly mistakes :D

Well he plays in England for Tottenham Hotspur, so I don't think it will be a lot compared to others.
Best info I could find is that he gets £120.000 p/w plus bonuses. He must struggle to get by on that.  :faint:

Oh Cool! I've been playing as Tottenham on my soccer video game for a few months now and didn't even realize Hugo Lloris is the French goalie :D  Except that in my soccer video game Hugo is a goalie substitute, base on the year 2015. Yeah I think he should be making at least £1million.

Really?  :eyes:
Got to say that I think footballers are overpaid for what they do. It's not exactly what you could call hard work.

No hard work, it is a profession but not like a regular job. A lot of people argue that professional sports players are overpaid.

Darn, now I have to wait 4 years for the next World Cup. I wish FIFA runs it every 2 years :)

Longer than that I'm afraid. It's four and a half years as it's being played in Qatar where it will be too hot to play in the summer. It runs from the 21 November to the 18 December when it will probably still be too hot to play football.

Next is UEFA European Championship 2020. Same thing vibe-wise and not too distant.

Yes only two years away. Scotland will probably give it a miss though,  :(

Why?
Because our team is useless and rarely qualifies for it. 1996 was the last time we managed it and that was only the second time. If we carry on as we are, it could be 2096 before we are good enough to qualify again.
