I've eaten baked fish eyes but only the coating, not the entire eye ball. There's no way I would swallow an eye ball :eyes:

Not even if you were stranded on a desert island and there was nothing else to eat?

I always suck out the fish eyes when they didn't remove 'em for some reason.  My (vegetarian) wife's also grossed out by the thought of sucking out bone marrow. Lucky for her I'm a de facto pescetarian. Life without soused herring or smoked mackerel would be a hard sell. Life without factory-farmed beef, chicken or pork is not. It just happens. Most of it is rather unappealing to me. A good, free-roaming self-caught chicken, on the other hand… tastes quite a bit like pheasant. :D

I suppose I eat less quite a bit less meat than some "vegetarians" because I'm kind of a snob about it. But really, why would I put bad food in my body? I've heard things like "I'm a vegetarian, except when I eat a turkey for Christmas." Or there are even people who say they're a vegetarian since they only eat chicken. No such nonsense for me. I went a few years as a vegetarian (i.e., I didn't eat any meat) entirely by accident. Those people make it sound like some kind of constant struggle.

Nope. But now that you've changed the subject, my answer is there's always leaves and grass available on a desert island. If you have had a survival training you can light a fire and those leaves and grass becomes edible ;)

Yup that is nonsense in my opinion. You can't be a vegetarian if you're eating meat from turkey or chicken. Some people call it 'semi-vegetarian'. At least that makes more sense.

In the Netherlands and Germany those people have coined the term "flexitarian".

It could just be sand and rocks, no leaves or grass for you.  :P

Very apt.

That would be unfortunate :P If that's the case, I may have to hunt for desert ants. Lets see, do I want to light up a fire and eat roasted ants or barbecued fish eye balls? :eyes:  Oh yeah, I could chew only the coating of the fish eyes without swallowing the entire eye ball

I thought this Hebrew translation of The Merchant of Venice opened quite amusingly.

Today we get revenge on the British;
they have taken our Holy Scriptures and
treated them as one treats one’s own
property: they have translated them,
scattered them to all corners of the earth
as if they were their own, and so today
we repay them for their deed, for we are
taking the books which are as precious
to them as the Holy Scriptures, the plays
of Shakespeare, and we are bringing
them into the treasure- house of our holy
tongue; is this revenge not sweet?!

Precious to the residents of Stratford-upon-Avon maybe. Everyone else... Not so much.  ;)

That's some weird '90s UK series, isn't it?

I only remember watching the pilot, Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future. I'm not really sure if the TV series was shown here. I will have to ask some of my TV addict friends if they remember if it was broadcast here.

But yeah it was weird, but definitely different at the time. I recall most everyone was talking about it the following day after it's first broadcast.

Oh, I didn't even know that existed. I was thinking of the series.
Yes, I guessed that.
What was properly from the (mid-)'90s is ReBoot.
I've never heard of that. It looks like something that would be on the kids TV channels here, so the fact I've never heard of it won't come as a surprise.  ;)

Well yes, I remember catching a few eps as a kid. :p didn't remember the name but it was reasonably easy to find with a few relevant keywords. I doubt "computer generated" will help anyone find a present-day show. xD

Very true. It would take a long time to find what you were looking for, if you ever did. We looked after a friends children one day and all they wanted to do was watch the kids TV channel. I would reckon roughly 75%  of all the stuff that was on it was computer generated.

I actually have never watched a live comedian on stage.
Whoa, what? Never as in never or never as in never by choice? How about something in high school, a college event or a company trip? :)

I enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular but better than the recent Avengers/Captain America stuff.

I really enjoyed it although the ending wasn't that great. Never liked Captain America or the Avengers either. At the end of the movie there was a short scene of Thor asking Dr Strange for help. That would be interesting if Dr Strange show up on the next Thor movie sequel. :D

I wanted to witness the Solar Eclipse that occurred at 1pm today. But the freakin' overcast & rain got in the way.  :irked:

Aww. :( I hope you were in a partial area at least?

The funny thing is when I was little there was an eclipse every two or three years. There was also a partial back in 2015 apparently but it was completely overcast.

Were you on the right continent at least? Because from what I heard, the weather was exceptionally good over all North America yesterday.

Plastic bag.  Aarrr!  Paper bag easily damaged on a rainy day.
I think paper bags are mostly a thing in American movies. So the protagonist can tear them and embarrassingly have their groceries fall out in front of their love interest.

False. (Wtf? Who has?)
Saw someone frying an Ostrich egg on a TV program once, other than that no idea who has, or who would want to.
You need a big frying pan for a start.  :P
