Only need to buy the slow cooker now and you can be living on stews all winter.

Trust me on this, you don't ever want to.

I'd make toast or French toast (or possibly meatballs) out of stale bread, but I suppose making porridge out of it doesn't sound completely insane. That being said, I have no idea what to make of the link I shared. Bread… sauce with some onion & bay leaf flavor? Sounds boring at best.

Making it isn't insane, pouring it over your chicken then eating it is.  :P

It's Daylight Saving again so I get to sleep an extra hour last night :D

Our clocks changed a fortnight ago. No extra hour sleep for us though as our daft cats internally body clock didn't go back an hour, so he still wanted fed at the time that suits him and not us.  :(

I don't suppose your cat can tell the difference if you turn off all the lights an hour early at night :sherlock:

No I guess not. If he does he's been keeping very quiet about it up to now.  :D

I did not expect Trump to win the US Presidential election. :eyes: New York Times put it as a ‘stunning upset’ against Hilary. I had wanted to see a female president in USA when Hilary was running her campaign before Obama was elected, but I guess that may never happen.

It won't be Hilary that's for sure.
Surely there is another woman that would be capable of standing and winning, in the not too distant future?

That might not be such a bad idea.

I've heard that name an awful lot these past two days. I'm not in favor, but I suppose it could work. :P

Republicans found someone more surreal than Schwarzenegger and they won. Next they will find someone even worse (it's not like they are short of that kind of material, is it?) and beat Michelle too.

Palin's "I can see Russia from my backyard" is still fresh on my mind. But to me it seems that Trump beat the Republican party at least as much as he beat the Democratic party.

Re: Random Chat

Beat them or bought them? That's the question.

Re: Random Chat

He beat both parties and proved himself wrong in the process. Odd situation really. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.

Michelle would of had a better chance to beat Trump, it seems. She's at least generally liked.

No Hillary fan and I can agree with some Trump ideas, plus he's reeled it in a bit so my faith remains - for now. I've been wrong so far so maybe he'll be the best President we've ever had..?

True. Many times

From camping, or were you in the military, Luxor?  :sherlock:

I could never have joined the military as I don't like being told what to do.  ;)

Your wife has finished decorating a Xmas tree.

Nope far too early.
She always wants to put it up at the start of December, while Xmas eve is early enough for me. So we have to compromise and meet somewhere in the middle. We have the same conversation every year,  :D

I brought up that topic because one of my co-workers was making a fuss about her Xmas tree :D Actually she was making a fuss because she thought $20 was too expensive for a Xmas tree and wanted her husband to return it and get a cheaper one

She isn't called Scrooge by any chance, is she? I wouldn't say $20 is excessive for a Xmas tree.

I don't like to put up my tree too early, as that just means there's more of an opportunity for that daft cat of ours to destroy the thing. It's hard work having to stand guard for the entire time that it is up.
