Otter Browser Forum / Startpage search engine
Can the Startpage search engine be added to Otter. I have tried adding it manually but does not work correctly. If I go to https://startpage.com/ it recognises Otter as Safari and cannot add it as Safari has deceased.

Can someone help with this please.

Otter Browser Forum / Problem with build 80
Installed build 80 but when started it brings up an error message saying it cannot find MSVCR120.DLL though if you accept the message it then runs. Have reverted to build 78 and there is no problem.

It appears that Otter (72) is vulnerable to this attack assuming that the test is correct.

I have been using build 68 but having problems when writing in a forum and other inputs. The k/b is not behaving correctly as follows:-

Backspace does not delete the last letter but takes my back a page
/ this backslash brings up the search in page function

There are some others that I forget now. I have reverted to build 67 and all is fine.

However I have just done that and it works, but I have permanent tab set up and does not work from that. So I assume there must be some corruption on that page. I will delete the tab and set up a new one. Should have tried this before bothering you.

Otter Browser Forum / Problem with Duckduckgo
I have found when searching with Duckduckgo that the links it brings up will not connect. I just end up with a blank page. If I use Google then no probem.

Anyone else have this problem.

Re the reload icon greying out - so far in  #63 it seems to be behaving itself.

I am finding for the last few builds (currently 62) that the reload button on some pages is greyed out and I have to use F5 to refresh the page.

Otter Browser Forum / Setting up search engine
I usually use Google because of it ease of use for country specific searches, but would like to use Duckduck more. I see that it is possible to set it up for specific countries but not sure how that is achieved in Otter. If you set up DD you get a bookmarklet (https://duckduckgo.com/?kl=uk-en) but setting up a new search engine for DD and adding that BM does not achieve anything. Is there a way to set it up as a permanent choice in the search menu?

I am a bit confused over this. If replace the quotation marks then it does not load the blank tabs and restores a different profile.

Also I can import the bookmarks from Opera without problem but they are gone when I shut down and reload.

Is it possible to change the location of the profile, bookmarks etc?

The reason is that I regularly restore a baseline image to my machine and everytime I do so all the settings are lost.

I am using the syntax <"G:\Program Files (x86)\Otter Browser\otter-browser.exe" --profile "F:\Otter\Otter"> to load Otter which works in as much as Otter loads but not seem to be saving what I need.

AdBlock is implemented within Otter's codebase. What version of Otter are you using? In any newer version you should be able to use it through Tools > Content Blocking... by enabling some filter such as EasyList which contains everything except country-specific websites. Once you enable a list, Otter should download and activate it.

If this doesn't work as expected, then consider reporting it on GitHub.

It seems that you are implying that Otter does not work this way. The options under the Tools menu for content blocking are all greyed out so it is not possible to effect the blocking. It seems I am misunderstanding you somehow.

I am using Windows 8.1/64.

Is there any update as to when an adblock can be installed.

I do use Otter occasionally but the ads that proliferate make me switch back to Opera 12.
