What a difference. I may even retire my tablet with this..

That says a lot about where smart phones are going.
I know my Mrs is well impressed with her new one, it's probably being used as much as a tablet than a phone at the moment. Thought the novelty would have worn off after a couple of weeks but no.

They are becoming quite impressive...

Where have you been hiding by the way, not seen you for a while. Have you been on holiday?

In a word, FIFA.
I bring nothing to the table during such events and the subsequent discussions of said events...

Speaking of cell phones, finally retired my old Droid X and upgraded to the LG G2. WOW! What a difference. I may even retire my tablet with this...;)

Speaking of lives of cats...is Baily well versed in his cat etiquette?

Let's just say he has cat etiquette down to a fine art.
The only difference with him is the barfing on the rug, he will usually only proceed to the rug after the bed has been barfed on.

How is Clints diabetes treatment going by the way?

Clint did the barfing on the bed bit a couple of times, but he made the mistake of doing it once while I was in the bed. After that, any retching sounds while in bed will prompt a swift and undignified launching off of said bed. Granted, that will land him on the rug, but I'm opting for the lesser of two evils (and the first thing my feet touch when I get out of bed are my flip-flops, not the floor).

Fortunately he's not vindictive enough to barf on my flip-flops.

Changing his diet did wonders for his diabetes and he has been off of insulin for several weeks now with no symptoms. Luckily he is a 100% indoor cat. Not sure I'd be able to manage the disease so well if he were indoor/outdoor.

Now when my brother was travelling internationally, he was able to bring some in...even shared a box with yours truly..

He most likely knew that if he didn't, you would kick his backside. Which of course is acceptable when it comes to brothers.

Acceptable, perhaps, but not very intelligent. Bro's former special forces... :ninja:
Due to that line of work, he's gotten cigars from some very interesting places...and former owners...over the years... :zip:

Ah yes you can't beat a nice Cuban cigar, they are meant to be savoured though, so you shouldn't be puffing away at them like a steam train in the first place. That just won't do at all.
Can't they be purchased on the black market over there expatri? Or is that something you would rather not say out loud.

Oh, I'm sure there's some sort of cigar black market here. Heck, sharing a border with Mexico and Canada would make it pretty easy, actually. It's just nothing I've pursued.

You'll have to watch what your doing with the strong stuff. Don't smoke it too quickly, you might knock yourself out.

It's the same way with cigars. Go to hard on some of those maduro (or if you're lucky enough to be in a country that allows trade with Cuba, a Cuban cigar) and it might just put you on your butt...hehehe... :faint:

I can always count on the ER for some late night entertainment. I was sent to the ER to help out for a bit. Just in time to see the aftermath of a stupid idea. Sometimes I wish I could climb into other's brains and see what they see. Will I still want to smh?

Well, if you're in their head, don't smh, sth (smack their head)...hehehe...

There will be some meat in them, but probably best if you didn't ask what part of the animal the meat the meat came from.

That part I probably wouldn't mind. Well, unless you mean it includes something like ground up bones.

Ground up bones?
Hehehe...ok, tell yourself that's the worst that could end up in them. There's a reason for that old adage "don't ask how the sausage is made". The reason is that someone may answer...

Does something similar apply to spam?

Don't think so, in all my years as a butcher I never came across it if it does exist.

I do recall my grandfather telling me about the days when the mid-western plains here in the US used to be covered with the wild spamelopes. Their herds would cover the plains as far as the eye could see.
But course, once they were nearly canned out of existence, the EPA stepped in and now there's only the farm-raised variety left. Sad, sad tale...

I've had mostly good experiences with Volvos.

Oh they are reliable cars I'll give you that and if you drive one and were involved in a crash with another car, I would rate your chance of survival better than the other guy in his car. They're just so ugly, a box on wheels is the best way you could describe them. Maybe I'm just remembering the things from the 70's.
I've no idea if the modern Volvo has improved in looks or not, in all honesty. Don't drive, so lack of interest in cars in general.

The newer ones are much more stylish...especially their sedans. The wagons are nice also, but you can only do so much with a station wagon when it comes to style...

Actually, there are some handy little cigarette rollers out there.

There is indeed, though I tended to go through my tobacco a whole lot  quicker when I used to use one, prefer to roll them by hand. There are some folk out there who just can't get the hang of them for some reason. I know a couple of them, even after me showing them how to use it they still couldn't master the things.

I would be one of those folks who could never get the hang of hand rolling. Tear the paper, roll it too loose, etc. Plus, with the rolling device, I could do up several "packs" at a time to get me through the week...:D

Aww, why not?

Like you need to ask.  :P

I've had mostly good experiences with Volvos. ;)

I've heard nothing but good things about them as well. Granted, they're rather boxy, but good, solid transportation by all accounts.
Did a Volvo touch you in "the bad place" when you were a child? ;)

A handsome pipe... :)  I have been thinking of re-visiting pipes as a smoking option. Just seems like a lot of work for a good smoke. Or have I just been doing something wrong?

I know nothing about pipes, but it sounds like less work than e.g. rolling a cigarette.

Actually, there are some handy little cigarette rollers out there. Even ones for filter cigarettes. I went about a year rolling my own when they started taxing them out of existence...

There does appear to be another way to do it. If you don't wish to use a public folder. But it takes a few more steps.
Get your  "Share Dropbox Link" and paste it into your reply. Like so:-
Code: [Select]
https://www.dropbox.com/s/x3r0n5o52q1anaa/angrycat.gif

Remove the "www" part and replace it with "dl" Like so:-
Code: [Select]
 https://dl.dropbox.com/s/x3r0n5o52q1anaa/angrycat.gif

Now you can copy that link and use it when you use "insert image"
Just like this.

I did notice that difference between what I had put out and what you were displaying. Let's try it out...

VICTORY!!!!
Now I know about enough to become dangerous...hehehe...
Thanks Luxor!

Good news today! Took Clint to the vet for a follow up glucose check after taking him off of the juice, and his numbers are still good!
So no more having to shoot the cat twice a day. I think he's happy with that notion...

That's great. I bet Clint is more than happy with that.
Ok...so how do I drop a picture in here?

You are spoilt for choices buddy.
First off, of course you will have to host the image somewhere like imgur but you probably already knew that.
When it's hosted at imgur you have a choice of links to use. The Linked BBCode is the quickest, which you just copy and paste into your post.
Picture and link code below.

Code: [Select]
[URL=http://imgur.com/8HCyWY3][IMG]http://i.imgur.com/8HCyWY3.jpg[/IMG][/URL]

Or you may prefer using the insert image option when replying to a post here. So you would just use the direct link and it's put into the image tag like so.

Code: [Select]
[img]http://i.imgur.com/8HCyWY3.jpg[/img]

If your image is hosted at dropbox, you would have to make the image public and you copy the public link and use insert image when replying to the post, like so.

Code: [Select]
[img]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/253164678/Kissfriend.gif[/img]

Hope that helps.

Ok...the picture is at Dropbox. I right-clicked on it and selected "Share Dropbox Link" clicked on the "Insert Image" button here and pasted the link in.
What step did I miss in this dance? Do

How did you manage to break a pipe stem?

Pure carelessness on my part.
I was cleaning my pipe and didn't notice that it had fallen onto the floor, couldn't see it so I stood up. Think you can guess the rest...

Fortunately it was an old and fairly cheap one, so not a great loss, still a decent pipe though. It would have been much worse if it had been one of my other 2, then I would have been really crying.

Have you considered/tried clay? http://www.dawnmist.org/pipesale.htm
And here's a nice selection of traditional wood...http://www.pipesandcigars.com/pipes/churchwarden-pipes/
