Title: Weekly #52 bug(s)
Post by: treego on 2014-12-30, 19:09:39
The Refresh button never appears.  It simply is a Stop button.

On my system (Debian 64 bit) Otter sets sound level systemwide to 100% (already happened with #51, before I didn't try).

ALSA or PulseAudio?

@py-thon, that is odd, we don't set volume except of QSoundEffect for notifications which isn't used at all yet and set to 50%.
Maybe it is some kind of bug in QtMultimedia.

ALSA or PulseAudio?

Alsa with PulseAudio.
But it doesn't happen at startup, only when something (usually an annoying ad which can't be blocked) is blarring sound level is set at 100 %  and I am close to a heart attack.

@py-thon, you should try some QtWebKit demo, as it seems to be bug in it.
We can report it upstream if it will be confirmed.
You can try demobrowser from Qt examples (in webkitwidgets/), available as part of SDK but it should be also bundled by distributions (as part of docs or in own package).

Frankly I don't understand what you mean with "demobrowser".
But you can try for yourself: http://www.welt.de/wirtschaft/article135913414/Acht-Dinge-von-denen-wir-uns-verabschieden-muessen.html has one of those annoying ads (Ford in this case). Beta 4 seems to handle it better than before. Now sound "only" is 100 % when the cursor hovers over that part of the window and gets back to my normal 50% when the mouse leaves this area.

@py-thon, you can find it also here, in examples/webkitwidgets/browser/:
