It was in Oshkosh, the first time I had driven in in the U.S., the first time I had driven an enormous automatic Cadillac, and in a grid-like layout of mixed two-way and one-way streets, some of which were one-lane and some of which were two-lane, which made turning left a sort of guess. A police car followed me for about five minutes. They were mightily amused.
