Can MIME types be set now in Preferences > Advanced > Downloads or has it not been fully implemented yet?
Every time I try magnet or x-scheme-handler/magnet it says Invalid MIME Type name.
I also added it with xdg-mime default <someapplication>.desktop x-scheme-handler/magnet and tried again in Otter to no avail.
@beastie, I've changed regular expression to allow to add such types but the preferred way to handle that will be to add it as scheme in Applications section (which is not finished yet), that way links that use magnet: can be handled directly.
I'm not sure if use of that MIME type even on system level will help right now...
