Title: OSX install
Post by: Fotmat C on 2014-11-13, 22:11:44
Hello:

Is there any way to get a .dmg or .pkg to install in OSX?.

I don't know how to compile files or somebody who can post for noobies.

Regards

Compiling Qt software is actually surprisingly simple, probably is on Mac OS X as well. All you need to do is download Qt (http://www.qt.io/download/) (the community edition). Then you load the Otter project into Qt creator and build it. Be aware that the development environment itself is something like 500 MB. ;)

We need maintainer for MacOS builds, due to lack of them some users believe that this platform is not supported...

A lot of developers use OSX, how come nobody in the forum can do a .dmg or pkg file for the non tech savy?.

I'd like to test and use the Otter but I need to use it in WM Ware envirnoment, for me this is not practical.

A hackintosh for testing purposes can be handy :)

@Fotmat C, yes, but it's kind of illegal. ;-)
