Subj. After a few seconds when I entering any channel on Twitch.tv, Otter hangs.
Is that just hang or also a crash?
Does it happen only there or also on some other pages with native HTML5 video?
Is that default package or xp variant (try the other one too)?
Hungs, no response, I have to end task. Don't know a lot of sites with HTML5 video. YouTube works. Please suggest me sites to test.
I use default package with new QtWebKit, on Windows 7. Both Otter and Windows are 64-bit. I'll try Otter for XP package also.
@Freeman, yeah, try -xp package, it might be specific to Media Foundation multimedia backend which is now used in standard packages.
Tried XP package, it doesn't display any content from Twitch. I see just dark magenta page with 'Twitch' title on it. Same result when I enter a channel address manually.
@Freeman, that is bad news, I'm not sure if it is fixable then, perhaps something could be tweaked in MF backend of WebKit, but I'm not sure.
@Freeman, is that hang accompanied by high CPU usage or it just gets stuck?
Gets stuck with 0% CPU.
@Freeman, I've talked with QtWebkit devs, most likely it is some sort of deadlock, but it will be hard to research without producing some backtrace.
I can later try to do so, I still have template for Windows 7 VM around, unless you can provide one yourself.
You can also grab the VMs over on https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/ although unfortunately they got rid of XP. I'll have to take good care of my XP VM, 'cause I don't even know where I left my install disk.

All of my Windows are with Russian UI and installed to Microsoft VMs. :alien:
Reproduced with latest test-qtwebit. Freeze and hang (https://www.twitch.tv/cantorsys).
@Freeman, well, we still need some backtrace to find out what is going on, at least reproducing it using test-qtwebkit rules out some possibilities.
I guess that it would best if you would talk directly with devs on #qtwebkit at Freenode.
@Freeman, good news, fix was backported and should be available in next release of QtWebKit, or maybe earlier, if we will manage to get some fresh binaries for Windows.
Great! :coffee:
@Emdek, with build 172 Twitch started to work. Maybe earlier, but I'm watching Twitch just now.
@Freeman, my guess is that they changed something on their side, we are still waiting for new TP that contains fix for that freeze.
