What Jesus did not indicate was the semi-pagan, highly ritualistic, dictatorial premise that Romanism was built on. It took over the church and no-one allowed any other stance. Because Rome had been the capital of the political empire it bashed the heads of Christian churches everywhere else  using the city's history as a weapon. Pope after Pope claimed all sorts of titles, were as corrupt as hell with mistresses, illegitimate children and control freakery. Nothing about the Roman stuff is part of the simplicity of Jesus Christ and became a religious dictatorship. Rome used the basis of the old Roman Empire to push it's influence and with such took over the wider Christian attitude and heaven help you if you opened your mouth. And by the way there is NO evidence even Peter was ever in Rome. When the priest Martin Luther went to Rome he was deeply shocked at the inbuilt corruption of the Church, it's leaders and misuse of not only power but morality and everything negative. So dear Belfrager you can take note that the situation on the Church of Rome caused the Reformation. The matter of paying for Indulgences was only the tip of the religious iceberg.

I do not have anything against individual Romanists but I certainly do on their Church, it's errors and false doctrines. Princes of the Church another ridiculous pontification. Italy at one time was actually a group of individual Kingdoms until unified and the former papal States were a totally undemocratic place, corrupt as much as could be, secret police and torture inbuilt.  In the 20th century the RC Church worked closely with Benito Mussolini, in the old Yugoslavia during WW2 when the Germans took over they had an RC priest as commander of a camp full of Orthodox people and large numbers forced to become RC's and equally large numbers massacred. Far more than Serbs were labelled with in more recent times. The legions of Nazis in 1945 getting Papal passports for South America. In the South Vietnam terrible early time a Buddhist country had a regime who's leaders were guess what religion?!

Jesus never acted like a future Pope and the early churches were simple, straightforward and free from the later Popish tyranny.

Since I don't answer to pagan, money lovers heretic northern protestants, there's nothing to answer at the above posts.

Meanwhile, Pope Francis has made Saints those that received the visit and were touched at their hearts by Our Lady of Fatima. One million people were there.

Even Muslims made the sacrifice to go in their knees to pray and thanks to Our Lady.

Dogs barks and the caravan passes.

A fantastic visit from Pope Francis to Fátima.
Not a visit of State, a visit as an humble pilgrim.

Since John Paul II to Francis, all of them knees to Our Lady of Fátima.

You Oakdale have been fighting wars sine 1945 and may I also remind you that the main RC-Prot thing was essentially the 16 and 17th centuries.

And a wee bit of passing info about you lot over there! In the early days of Texas the place was essentially Mexican and Mexico allowed you Yankee boys to settle there on conditions and if you converted to being Papist and know what? They did!

It's a big round number of years since the Reformation this year. Not seeing much celebration, except some odd attempts to swipe the old differences under the rug, so it's safe to determine that people have forgotten what the Reformation was all about.

For one, Luther said that churches should not be overloaded with distracting art. Even this simple well-founded point has been forgotten.

Does anyone knows the diference between a Blessed and a Saint? Sainthood can only be declared if in a presence of a proven miracle.
Some canonical processes took hundred of years, others are a bit faster, miracles are not an exact science... :)

You desperate house monk go on about long ago when your country bums about how great it is in modern times and the would-be progressive and principled actions. Well how come you have been militarily active since as I said, 1945?

Anyway I would say to you Belfrager that your ideas on who decides on sainthood and such is not my corner whatsoever. Yours is based on a connived historical religiosity that is Rome's. A Godly person of standing is the basis for being suitably labelled not a man in Rome who claims all sorts of religious titles and rituals as well. As much Christian as I am English!  :whistle:

You've destroyed so much that you'll never be perdoned. You'll pay for what you've done as sure as two plus two to be four.

You're a sinner as all the others (and all of us) but I'm not too harsh on that. Your very destiny will punish you for your herectic acts and there's no assurance that my destiny will reward me for mine. Or vice versa.
