You don't want new windows (in case of new session it also counts as new window) being maximized? You can disable Interface/MaximizeNewWindows in about:config.
It works but than Otter start with a small window. It will be nice if it will remember the size (settings).
Maybe it's a problem between the website and WebKit. I'm using FreeBSD 10.1 and most images I found on the home page display fine. Only a few of them caused the problem you're describing.
Or maybe it's just a problem with the website. I tried it in Opera and the images that didn't work in Otter were shown, but with a weird background image with a "Clear" alttext.
I use also viewbug.com and there are no problems. Yes, looks some sites works better than other. But on my system the poblem or I don't know how to setup, when I start Otter it open all the time in the full size is still here.
It works but after all this time there are still problem to see images on redbubble.com for example: click on picture and you will see just black (for a moment you will see picture too).

I am using FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE now and the problem exist on my system from the first time when I give a try to Otter.
@fernandel, are you using custom or private session?
I don't know. I don't have any option to choose private or custom. I think it is custom because I change some settings but nothing more for sure what I have in Firefox for example or xombrero. In blocking I have "Easy list" but it doesn't works if I choose something or no.
@fernandel, you should switch to weeklies, they are based on the same branch and are usually stable enough, for sure they have more fixes and improvements. ;-)
I did build and install the last weekly one and I have the same problems: redbubble.com/people/lumiwa and the browser all the time start full size.
Window size after restart is only restored when "Startup behavior: Continue previous session" ist set, the other options result in a tiny window in the middle of the screen, just like described in github issue #691".
This sounds the same as issue 607(which was closed because) issue 597 was reported first. Been like that for a while at least in windows.
On my otter beta 4 I have in Startup - Show empty page and when I start Otter it open in full size (full display) and cannot remember my last size but zoom works. And I have the problem with showing reddbuble pictures still
@fernandel, is there any ETA for Qt 5.4? Apart QtWebEngine it also has various fixes for QtWebKit.
As I wrote before we don't have any ETA for Qt 5.4 yet. I did update again new qtwebkit but my problem is here still. I don't know if is any FreeBSD user on this forum but in case that is here, could you check redbubble.com/people/lumiwa for example and "click" on any picture, please. Thank you.
@fernandel, looks like something borked in QtWebKit. :-/ Do you have content blocking enabled? If yes then try to disable it. Another option is to try to mask as Chrome or Firefox (can be set for this website in Website Preferences).
In Otter - Tools - Content Blocking I don't have anything checked. I did also rebuilt a qt5-webkit and didn't change anything.
@fernandel, could you please prepare some short screencast or series of screenshots showing this issue? Looks like some kind of rendering issue in QtWebKit. If Qt 5.4 is already available under FreeBSD then you can try this: https://github.com/Emdek/otter/issues/615

I don't know if is the correct place to complain about my problem. I have Otter 0.9.04 beta 4 Web browser controlled by the user, not vice-versa. Web backend: WebKit Backend 538.1. SSL library version: OpenSSL 1.0.1j-freebsd 15 Oct 2014. I am am FreeBSD 10.1 user. I use a lot of redbubble.com site and the Otter doesn't open photos correct. http://www.redbubble.com/people/lumiwa is my site and if I click on the whatever photo it shows on the right side a little of photo and all the other part is a black or the black photo is above. If I want to enlarge it then just for a moment shows and again just black. In this case the Otter is not usable for me but I like the browser. With no one other browser I never had a problem.
