My apologies for the slight transformation of this thread.

In any case, when the SCOTUS rules on the nonsense and declares it unconstitutional, I'll post a link to that, as it will be good news.

But of course, I'll also have to post in the Bad News thread to, as it will have costed several hundred thousand dollars of the state taxpayer's dime.

So, getting back on topic, today's good news is that it's been nearly 1 1/2 years since I quit smoking cigarettes!  8)

Bigotry in the land of the free and home of the brave? Uh? Well that is a wee change from them fighting over that Constitution. Time after time one has a stream of people going on about that bit of paper being ignored or misused so good luck to you all!

A great deal healthier. Things began to taste so much better after only 3 months.

I won't lie though, when I least expect it, I do get the occasional craving for a cig.

Taste better, huh? Well, I do recall that things taste kinda tobacco-y for up to like a day after having tried a cig.

Back in '82 there is one Scot Unionist I wished I could have instructed my lads to take down, but they chose their targets, & I just facilitated the know-how on how to dispatch them efficiently & precisely.....too bad......too bad.

I can only live in the solace that I did the best I could, &
so did they .... so they did!     :rip: :rip:  :rip:   :rip:  :rip:  :rip:  :rip:  :rip:  :rip:  :rip:  :rip:  :rip:

Thank you much, SF!

Thankfully the cravings don't come as often as they used to, but yes, I normally placate myself with an extra pint or two of beer to take my mind off the craving. Works 9/10.  :D

(yawn). Now readers take note. This balloon boasts about his Americanism and how great it is and all the usual blah, blah. However at the same time supports a bunch of evil creep terrorists who are almost Marxist in their philosophy. That is two-faced and so hypocritical. Uses the US flag and the neo-Marxist sign to show a stance? No wonder the head shrinkers industry is a big thing over there. He can call me what he likes but the grey cells people here will ably see his hypocrisy. A democrat and a Bolshie??!

See how tolerant us Irish-Americans are.

[glow=green,2,300]Freedom & a United Ireland comes before politics. [/glow]

I personally don't care what their politics will be after they attain their freedom from hundreds of years of English Tyranny & oppression.

The important bit is their freedom, freedom as a United Ireland, not how they can argue about meaningless & endless political posturing in a Socialistic Parliament.

About that I care not, for I don't have to live under such rot......Ireland belongs to them.

Let them do & live as they will.

I just ask they do me one pleasure.

That they shoot each & every Brit Unionist in their backs as they flee.....That would be worth the price of admission!!
Then I could publish that in "Today's Great News"!

@OakdaleFTL    Never, ever, heard that version, but in the end everyone is entitled to an opinion what songs they like.....Personally, I hold no claims to liking or disliking any particular PM & Wings song, but I pretty much agree with the basic message of the one Krake posted above.

Here's what Paul & his wife Linda said about the song & the issue back in 1972:

And all that Shinners stuff is baloney as they are a MINORITY in the republic of Ireland. The Irish have moved on from the silly days now they are more separated from the men in black and white collars who used to run the place.  Even former Prime Minster of Ireland Bruton recently said in a speech that the 1916 thing was not needed (!) so change days with a modern attitude.  In modern times when they had a referendum in the South they dropped the part of the Constitution that claimed Ulster. In addition the Dublin Government granted over £100,000 to lodges meeting in the country and the efforts in that minority religious tradition. Even the UK Government loaned Ireland 7 billions at a reasonable rate to assist the economic  rate.  So the Ireland that Smiley portrays if it is assessed does not exist and there is not that bullish SF rubbish to the fore. For me it is a good thing that Ireland has modernised and not following the Smileys of the world.

As for the arch creep mouth, raccy yapping on about the colonel' smoke stuff. It does not get away from what Smiley is in being hypocritical. He waxes on about the greatness of America and it's freedom and emocracy would-be stuff but openly supports a terrorist tradition and that is far more disgusting. So sod off racc and remember that the mental industry in the US is big so you should have no problem. I like the south of Ireland in these days a

Variety is key. I start every day with a protein shake because, as you get older, your protein synthesis no longer functions as well. I avoid sugar and eat lots of meat, especially fat. I've been on a fat trip lately. Fat! Piles of fat. Yet, I was in a supermarket the other day and was perplexed to find yogurt with zero fat. What on earth is that? The idea of the nutrition pyramid where, at the top, is a little fat and meat, and at the bottom a lot of carbohydrates, is, excuse me, bullshit. Humans are so unbelievably stupid that we have begun to tinker with food. Our theories of nutrition have resulted in a pandemic of obesity. Can you imagine a hunter-gatherer enjoying a low-fat yogurt? Let me tell you this, too: I read a report recently which said that a fatty diet also increases your libido.

Retirement is the biggest killer of old people, full stop. I prefer to call it involuntary unemployment. What I'm nearly bursting a blood vessel about is the fact that humans are blissfully ignoring the aging process. We recycle everything nowadays, except human beings. Our expiry date is 65, after which we're thrown on the rubbish heap and chemically treated. We are pouring the experience, creativity, and talent of people over 65 down the toilet. They should be able to found companies, be creative. They have nothing to do except sit about and get sick. This is a world problem and it needs to change.

I already think pretty much anything with added sugar is cloyingly sweet, so I could be doing worse.
